Schedule INSTAGRAM STORIES ⏰

Yes, I'm an Instagram marketer. Nope. I don't want to be spending my whole day inside the app. As business owners, we have a lot to do and thankfully your Instagram Story scheduling is about to get a whole lot easier. If you've ever struggled with wanting to show up in your Instagram Stories every day, but have trouble actually doing it, you're in the right place because today I'm going to cover how to schedule your Instagram Stories in advance. And stay tuned until the end where I'm going to share how you can actually show up in your Instagram Stories in a strategic way so that you're actually getting leads and sales back to your business. What I'm about to teach you has worked for me, Elise Darma, back when I was working remotely from Costa Rica. I was actually doing a brand partnership deal at the same time, so I was contractually obligated to share to my Stories that week. Well, I was a little busy being in Costa Rica, so what I did was make the Stories beforehand and then preschedule them in advance so that I could still be enjoying my time in Costa Rica, but make sure that I was meeting the deals of my partnership.

I'm Elise Darma and I've taught thousands of entrepreneurs like yourself, how to use Instagram so that it actually becomes a revenue stream in your business. And today I'm sharing how you can schedule your Instagram Stories in advance. The point of using Instagram for your business today is to make your life easy so that you can get more clients and customers to your business, no matter how long you're spending each day in the app. I am a huge fan of using Instagram from desktop, and if you haven't seen my video on that topic yet, head to this video right here.

But in today's video, I'm going to share with you how I use a desktop tool called Later to preschedule my Instagram Stories in advance. Later is a lifesaver. When I use the tool from my desktop, I can preschedule all my images, my videos, my captions, my links for my Stories, and then when it's time to post, I'll get a notification on my phone. All the content will preload itself into my phone and all I have to do is hit the publish button with Later. I can schedule my Instagram Stories at the most optimal time of the day, which is going to mean increased views to my Story.

I can coordinate the Stories for my multiple clients in advance and not worry about forgetting to post to one of my client's Stories. And with the swipe up feature in my Stories, I can drive more traffic to my blog posts, my products, my offers, basically anything in my business that sells when I show up strategically in my Stories. Let me show you exactly how I do this. So let's say I want to preschedule this graphic in advance to my Instagram Stories. I made this graphic in Canva to promote my live training series. So once it's done and I think it is, I'm just going to download it to my computer.

Once it's downloaded, it'll be in my downloads folder. So then I'm going to head to the Later app and you can see that I've already connected my Instagram account here. So to preschedule my Story, I'm just going to hit this button here and now I'm going to upload the image from my downloads folder. Now that the image is in my media library, I'm just going to drag it over to this Story section. And here is where I can preschedule any information in advance with Instagram Story scheduling. All you want to do in this section is just put the URL that you want to drive people to. So in this case I want to lead them to my Facebook page. So I'm just going to leave that URL for my Story scheduling.

I'll need that to link to my graphic and then I'm going to preschedule it. So let's choose a time just so I can show you now in the near future. I'm going to schedule this for 1:10 so once I found my date and time I've added my URL. I'm just going to hit "save Story" and now you can see I have a scheduled Story coming up in three minutes. Okay, so now that our scheduled Story has come, it's time to post it.

I'm just going to grab that notification or actually I'll just go to later and I will see my Story ready to go inside the Later app so you can see for my Instagram account ready to post. So I'm just going to tap post now. Open in Instagram. Later is automatically going to open up my Instagram app. So I just had to my Instagram Story. Hello, pull up my camera roll. There's the graphic that I prescheduled. Then I'm going to tap the link icon because I have the swipe up feature and then Later has already copied that link. So I'm just going to hit "paste", then "done".

And now this link is linked to this graphic. Now it's ready to share it to my Instagram Stories. Now it's one thing to preschedule your Instagram Stories. It's a totally different thing to plan them strategically so that they actually drive customers back to your business. The best way to plan your Instagram Stories is to make sure they hit all the points of your customers journey. How? Well I've put everything inside of my Story Seasons Method which you can find inside my product Story Vault. How To Create An INSTAGRAM Content Calendar

Have you ever heard the saying, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail? Social media can be powerful for any brand, but social media with a plan can be even more powerful. In an ideal world, your content strategy should align with your current business schools at any given time. So if you've ever struggled with what to post on Instagram or maybe you've gotten into the habit of that frazzled last minute posting, you're in the right place.

Because in today's video I'm going to walk you through how I'm building out an Instagram content calendar for my very own personal brand and stay till the end where I'm going to share with you how you can get an entire year's worth of your Instagram Stories planned and done and checked off your plate just with one product. I'm Elise Darma and I've taught thousands of entrepreneurs like yourself, how to use Instagram so that it actually becomes a real revenue stream in your business. And today I'm going to walk you through how to create a content calendar for your Instagram. So the very first thing you need to do, it's a must, but you must tie your content plan to your overall goals for your business for let's say the next quarter.

I like to plan about 90 days in advance at most. So on a calendar, whatever you use, maybe it's your Google calendar or physical calendar, but I want you to plan out your upcoming launches, your upcoming milestone goals, whatever is coming up for you in this quarter, put it down in a calendar. Now you're going to work backwards. Now that you know exactly what's coming up for the next 90 days, you're going to work backwards and make sure that your Instagram content is synced up with what you've got coming up. Now in terms of what content you can actually share on Instagram, I've done a whole video on this. It's right here. How to plan content for Instagram. Go ahead and check it out. I cover how you choose a theme and how you batch create your content. Now it's time to move into a tool so you can move right to a scheduling tool like Later.

But I'm actually gonna walk you through a demo of how I plan my Instagram content in Asana. I use Asana as the first place because it allows my team to check in, maybe help write captions so that they see exactly what I've got planned and coming up. So let's jump into Asana and I'll show you exactly how I plan out my content. Here we are inside of my Asana account.

So if you don't have one, highly recommend you sign up for one. It is free. And what I'm going to do is walk you through how to create a project, which is where you can organize your Instagram's content calendar and involve your team members too if you'd like. So right on the left hand side here, you're just going to hit the plus symbol and then "create project".

So you can choose a template or a blank project. You have options here. For the sake of this demo, let's go with blank project. So let's call it Elise's Instagram content calendar. And here you're going to want to choose your view. So the default is a list. The second option, which I prefer is the board view and I'll show you what that looks like, but if you're familiar with Trello, that's the default view of the Trello tool. So this is where I'm going to choose board. And then down here you can choose whether to keep it private to yourself or public. In this case I'm going to keep it public. Then I'm going to hit create project. Okay, so here we are in my new project so you can see in board view we get columns. This is what list view looks like, so it's more like a traditional to do list. Here's why I like columns because of the way we're going to set up our content calendar. So I'm going to rename this one. It is right now "to do", just click on it once and I'm actually going to give it the name of March, 2020 that's the month that I'm filming this.

So this is how I'm building out my calendar. Then we're going to do April, 2020 and then we'll do May, 2020 so basically I am planning out my next three months of content. Now of course I can keep going and make one for June, 2020 by hitting that button, right, right here. So now that we've got our months divided by columns, I'm going to rename this card, which is defaulted to task one. I'm actually going to give it a date. So let's say March 15th, 2020 because this is the date that I want to post to Instagram.

So now when I click out of this view, I can see it. Now let's also do a post on March 18th let's do a post on March 21st let's do a post for March 25th and March 28th, 2020 okay, so I'm going to move the March 15th to the top, so it's in order, so you can probably see where I'm going with this. But each one of these cards is where I'm going to predetermine the image and the caption. So let's click into March 15th and let's open up my image folder and let's choose an image like this one and we're just going to drag it in. So this would be an image that I've already determined to be one that I want to post to my feed.

So we'll let that load. And as that's loading, I'm going to fill up these cards with the other images. [upbeat music] Alright, so now that all the images have loaded, I can start to get a preview of what this is going to look like. So maybe I actually don't want these two to be next to each other. I'm gonna move this one in between. So I simply drag my card up and then I'm going to change this date to say March 18th and then this one will be March 21st so this is where I'm starting to plan out the look of my feed.

And what I also recommend is once you know what order you want your images go in, you can click into each card and in the description start writing out the caption. So this is a great place for you to involve your team members, especially if you have a VA or anyone who helps you with your marketing. You can maybe put in some bullet point notes here and then let them know that they can flush it out a little bit more. They can even do like your hashtag research for you. So I like to use a tool called Flick, which I'll link right below this video, but you know they can do that research for you and then just paste them all in, you know, directly into your description right here. So if you want to divide it like that, this is a great way to get your team member involved so they can help you write this out and your hashtag research. So some great things about why I like using Asana is there's something you can do in terms of adding a tag.

So with tags you can color code your content by theme. So let's say Monday is your day to post something motivational. So you can actually create a tag and let's call it Monday motivation, create the tag and you can give it a color. So let's do pink. Now the 15th is actually a Sunday because I can actually make the due date like right here in Asana. So let's actually make it the 16th and then I'll update this. So now I know it's going to be due March 16th and I know it's going to be in the theme of being motivational. My team member and I are going to write the caption. We're going to do our hashtag research right here and now I can start to get a sense of, you know the pink tag is referring to a motivational post. Let's go onto the next one. Let me just copy this. So again, you're going to work on your caption and your hashtags together as a team. So you're going to fill them in in the description. And one thing I really love is let's say my team member, Kaeli, actually this one was the due date.

Let's see, my team member Kaeli's going to help me write this description. I can actually tag it to her and give her a due date so I can actually make it the date of publishing or the day before. It depends on how you want to work together as a team. But then I can even down here, tag her in a comment and say, Kaeli, could you please help me out with writing this caption for this post? Right? So I can give her a task to help me out with this caption. Then when she is done, she can remove herself and she can assign it to me and then she can reply back and say, you know, this will be from her account to say, ready for your review, right? So this is a great way to again, work with your team member, especially if you're feeling like it's overwhelming to create a content calendar. This tool is really, really handy. So moving on to tagging it. Again, you can add a tag and let's say we want it to be Wednesday tip for example, let me get green.

So if we go back to this view, we can start to see, you know, Monday is motivation, the green, it means tip. And then let's put this one on. Let's publish this one on the Friday. So we'll actually make it March 20th and let's give it a sub task or a tag of Friday Funny, that could mean whatever you want it to be for your brand and what colors have we used. So let's try purple. Um, so now we can see that each of our posts that are gonna happen in this week of March 16th, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, they're hitting on different themes, right? We've got motivation, then we have the tip and then we have the humor right here.

We can repeat that same system for the following week. So let's change this to the 23rd, if we're going to keep it to the Monday. And then again add the tag for Monday motivation. So that allows you and your team member to also get a sense of what theme to follow when writing your caption. So again, we'll follow the same pattern. We'll change this to a Wednesday and then we'll add a tag to make it a Wednesday tip. Okay? So that's how I recommend to work with a team member in filling out your content calendar. Again, this is just for the month of March. And you can repeat things for all the following months and you can also have the ability to mark the task complete either when it's published or when you've moved it over to Later. So that's probably what I'd recommend is once you know where was it right here. So once us as a team have written the caption, it's been approved, then one person needs to go into Later.

So let's find this image and pull it up just for demonstration purposes. So there's the image, then all you have to do is copy the caption, right in here. Later now has the ability to add in a first comment. So if you'd like, you can add your hashtags in the first comment right here. And that's pretty much it. Just make sure that whoever is scheduling schedules it for March 18th. So once we determine our date and time, you can choose auto publish or notification, then just hit save. And if we go to that week, we'll see it scheduled in for this week. And again, that's where you're going to get this preview button. Once all the images are in, you're going to be able to see them previewed on how it's going to look on mobile. Then once it's scheduled, then just go ahead back to the task and you can mark it as complete. So again you can this out with your team, but you can see that it gets grayed out showing that that task is complete.

Obviously this one should be published first before that one, so eventually over time you're going to have columns filled with completed tasks. and then the great thing is once these are all built out over a couple months, you're going to be able to see at a glance all of your content and the captions that you've written, which could be used again six months down the road. They can be repurposed as blog posts. It's really going to become a great content bank for all of your content to live in one place.

Plus you can have your team members involved so that you're not the one writing and creating all your content for your feed. Another cool thing is you can always switch between board view and list view. So you can see that even though I built it out as a board view, I can still see the list view and it still categorizes the pieces of content by month very, very nicely. And the other cool view is by calendars. So maybe after I've given everything a date, then I can go ahead to the calendar view and see. Perfect. Pink means Monday motivation. Wednesday means tip and Friday means funny. So I can start to see that I'm hitting the mark with that content theme even in my calendar view. So I hope this overview has given you a sense of how to use Asana in terms of building a Instagram content calendar and how you can involve your team members to help out with the writing of the captions and curating content too.

So there you have it. That's how I plan content for my feed. Now let's talk about your Instagram Stories. Creative Ways To Edit Your Instagram Stories

So that's how you bring in branded Instagram Story stickers to your Stories. Oh, bonjour there. Are you looking for creative ways to edit your Instagram Stories so that your followers stop their scroll? Well you're in luck, because today I'm showing you how to add creative touches to your Instagram Stories without even leaving the Instagram app. If you've ever struggled or wondered how people are making fun, creative, and fresh Stories, well today is your lucky day because I don't want to use a million apps. I'm sure you don't either. So I'm going to share with you my best tips, tricks, and hacks for making really cool fun Stories all within the Instagram Stories app and stay tuned until the end where I'm going to share with you one of my favorite Instagram Story design hacks that I use all the time so that my Stories actually have a custom made sticker in them featuring my product or brand logos.

I'm Elise Darma and I've helped thousands of entrepreneurs and business owners like yourself use Instagram so that it actually becomes a revenue stream in their business. And today I'm sharing creative ways to edit your Instagram Stories. I'm going to pull up the Instagram app and let me show you my trick. First things first, we want to open up our Instagram Stories and then swipe up so that we pull open our camera roll. So I have an album here called Bali 2019 but you have all your camera folder options here. So let's use an image from this album. The very first trick that I want to show you is the eyedropper tool.

So sometimes people don't know how to use this one, so let's just give it a simple title: Bali, and let's say I want to put it right here, but I don't want the white, I actually want this to match the color of my scooter. So in the bottom left I'm going to hit the eyedropper and then I'm going to drag it to the color of the scooter that I'd like to use. And there we go. I've matched the font and the color of my text with the color of my scooter. The second trick I want to show you is how to apply a color overlay and then use the eraser tool. So right in the upper right you see the two letter A's. Move one over to the scribble line and that's where you're going to get color options. Okay, so this first option I'll just use a bright color to show you is a pen.

Let me just make it thicker. There you go. The second option is an arrow tool, which is relatively new from filming this. The third option is a highlighter tool and then we have a sparkle tool. So let me just undo those 'cause the one that I want to show you is what I call the highlighter tool. So that's the middle one. Then I'm going to go ahead and find a light color. So let's the color pink and then I'm just going to press and hold my finger down. And so now this overlay has been applied to my image, which is really cool.

But the second thing you want to do is take the eraser tool, which is the very last one on these options. And this tool on the left hand side allows you to choose the size of your eraser pen. So I'm going to choose a thinner eraser tool and now I'm going to take my finger and spell out Bali so I can erase parts of the image that I want to showcase with the eraser tool. So that's a really cool way to make your images in your Stories pop and stand out in different ways. The next thing I want to show you is how to make a dotted line. So you just head to the A in the upper right and then go ahead and hit the period symbol or period button and I think it will stay the same no matter what your font is. Actually there are some variations, so let's go with classic and if you just keep on doing that, you are going to be able to create a dotted line.

And of course the more you hit it, the thinner it's going to get. So this could be cool. If you want to give yourself an underline. Let's say again, we spell out Bali and this is just going to be the underline for our headline here. Maybe we want to put it above, so then I'm just going to highlight it. Hit copy, find my mouse and my cursor; tap to do that. Then hit paste. Let's shrink them all down. And so now I have this kind of divider by these periods creating this cool dotted line effect.

So again, we can use our eyedropper tool to find a color. Maybe we want something like that. There we go. We've used the periods to create a really cool line effect before. The fourth design tip I want to show you is how to bring in elements that you can overlay onto your image. So the first thing you're going to do is hit the A's in the upper right and where it says strong tapped so that it says classic.

Then I want you to hit the one, two, three on the keyboard and it's going to take you to another section of the keyboard. Then hit period. Now you're going to tap the A that has the outline and you can see that it gives it a solid background. I want you to tap the A again and you get a transparent background. So now go ahead and find whatever color suits you the best. And now you have this cool design element that you can play around with. You can zoom it out so that maybe you don't want that dot right there. You can repeat that whole process again so that you can get a different color and then overlaid that on top. So yeah, you can just have some fun using the classic font and adding these design elements on top of an image.

The next thing I want to show you is how to do the famous rainbow text or ombre text. So first things first is write out some text. Scooter, taking a scooter ride in Bali. There we go. I prefer the strong font, so I'm just going to choose that one. Then I'm going to hit the A with the sparkles to give it a background color and I'm just going to make it black. That way you're going to really be able to see the rainbow font and why don't I make this two lines as well. Okay, so once you have your texts you're then going to tap on it and see the blue cursor tap that until you see the select all option. Then you're going to select all and now all your text has been chosen. Next thing is I'm going to take my right thumb and I'm going to put it on the purple button and that's going to give me a whole gradient of colors and color options so you can see as I drag my thumb it's going to change the color of the text.

But the key is I'm going to take my other hand, my left hand and grab the top cursor. So I'm going to move the cursor at the same time that I drag my thumb. Here is what it looks like and as you can see you get that ombre or rainbow effect, which just really adds a pop to your Stories. The next design tip I want to show you is how you can search for special words and actually pull up a whole set of custom graphics and GIFs. So the first thing you want to do is hit these square smiley face and that's going to pull up this menu. Then tap GIF. So right away you're going to see trending GIFs. But here's where I want you to actually type in special key words. They're typically the names of artists and what you're going to find is you're going to see a whole set of GIFs with their particular design aesthetic.

So here I typed in gladdest and then I'm finding all of this artists' GIFs and designs. So, pretty cool, huh? Let me show you some others. We've got another one called muchable. So when I type this word in again, I see a whole different design aesthetic. We have Izzyink. And so what you want to do is just to see if any of these really match your brand. And then it could just be a really good go-to set of GIFs for you to use in your Stories. So I'm going to leave a list right here of all the names and designers that you can search inside of the GIFs section of Instagram Stories to have this option.

The last design tip I want to share with you is how to add in your product logos or your brand logo as a sticker to your Instagram Stories. So the very first thing you need to do is export or save your logo as a PNG file with a transparent background. That's key. Then you need to get it over onto your phone or your camera roll. Okay, so showing you my camera roll. You can see in my favorites album here, I have my Story Vault logos saved, so they do have a clear transparent background and you're going to see what that looks like in just one second. So here's my Instagram Story that I'm going to jazz up with my logo. What you need to do is go to wherever you save your logos in your phone, tap select, and then tap the one that you want to bring over into your Story.

Then you're going to hit these square share button at the bottom. This is for iPhone or iOS and then you're just going to tap where it says copy photo. So now it's been copied. Now I'm just going to zoom back to my Instagram Story window. Now there's an option to add stickers, so Instagram has automatically pulled that in for me. Now if you happen to miss that option where that little pop up appears, you can also just grab the cursor and tap a second time to where it says paste and then you can paste that in. So now you can see I've pasted it in twice. Now I only need it once. And as you can see we have a transparent background because I can see the image behind the sticker. So to make it more clear, what I like to do is hit the highlighter button and then I will find maybe a light pink and I'll just give it a couple of scribbles so that we can actually see the logo.

Of course, this depends on the image that you bring it into, but for a busier image like this one, I would definitely do that. So that's how you bring in branded Instagram Stories, stickers to your Stories. You simply need to save them to your camera roll and then when you're ready, tap, select, hit the image. Then you're going to say copy photo and then come over to your Instagram Stories and then tap add sticker. Or if you don't you can just find the cursor tap again, hit paste and there we go. We have a second version of the logo in our Stories so it's really quite simple and really quite effective. The first few steps you need to take care of on your own, which is to save the logo with a transparent background and get it over onto your camera roll.

Now that you have a few extra creative tips and ideas on how to jazz up your Instagram Stories, well, my friend, you need Story Vault to answer the question, what do I actually post in my Stories? INSTAGRAM PROFILE MAKEOVER

Are your people on Instagram, but you're not sure if you're actually reaching them? You might be in need of a makeover, an Instagram profile makeover. In today's video, I'm going to walk you through exactly what I teach my students inside of my program, InstaGrowth Boss on how they can make over their profile in just a few minutes so that they are attracting the perfect follower to their profile, who can become a lead and a sale in their business. I get it. The Instagram profile is a small space. There's only so many characters that you can use in your name field, your bio. So you've got to be efficient. So in today's video, I'm going to walk you through one of my clients. I'm going to show you what her profile looked like before and then what changes we made for her after. And I don't think you'll be too surprised to hear that her followers have since doubled since she made this makeover happen. So let's dive in to her profile right away. But first, are you subscribed to this channel? If you're interested in this topic and marketing and growing your business online, be sure to hit that subscribe button and the bell so that you never miss one of my future trainings and make sure you stay until the end of this video.

I'm going to be sharing some very handy templates that you can use to write your bio really fast. So let's get started. I want to show you my client Oriana's profile on Instagram. She's @idesign_space and this is what her profile looked like before we gave it a makeover. Her username @idesign_space, her name, fields idesign Inc and this is what her bio said. Design, space, inspiration, lifestyle, full service design build firm projects and inspirations that evoke emotion.

Let us ID your space. So Oriana came to me and my agency and she wanted to grow her followers, but because she's an interior designer, she didn't need followers from all around the world. She needed local followers, she needed leads and she wanted to connect with realtors, she wanted to connect with architects. She had a lot of goals. So we worked together to give her whole profile a makeover and this is what we did.

So the first thing we looked at was her username. Her username stayed the same. It's still @idesign_space. That's because her username was already established to her overall brand name. That's what you want your username to be. You want it to be your brand, whether it's your personal name or your businesses actual name. If your username is already taken on Instagram, you can get a little creative, maybe add a short word to the beginning or the end of your username like my or the, or use a period or underscore to break up some of the words. What I don't recommend is adding a bunch of numbers and symbols to make your username complicated and long.

Think about this. The next time you're at a cocktail party and someone says, Oh, you're on Instagram. I want to follow you. What's your username? Make it easy for you to say for them to hear it, remember it, and type it into their phone so that they can follow you. So Oriana's username stayed the same because it was already her established brand name. The next thing I looked at was her profile image. Because she's selling her services as a designer we kept the image the same. Here's what I typically recommend. Make sure your profile image is a nice smiling headshot of yourself, especially if you're a personal brand. Crop it so that its shoulders up and if you can try to take that image in front of a colored background.

Ideally the color behind you is your brand's main color. What this will do is when your followers are scrolling their feed and they see your bright profile picture, they're more likely to stop the scroll. That's the whole objective and because the profile picture is so small in the newsfeed, you want to do everything you can to stop that scroll, so I recommend a nice cropped head shot with a bright colored background that is your brand color. In the case of Oriana, her brand colors are black and white, so she kept hers the same because it has that black vibe to it. The next part of her profile that we looked at was the name field.

The name field is my favorite secret Ninja field because a lot of people don't know that the words you put in your name field are searchable. So once your username is your brand name, great, you're going to be found by your brand name in search, but your name field should be the target keywords that your typical follower would be looking for. So in the before version of her profile, she just repeated her business name, iDesign inc. That's very common.

A lot of times when you're filling out that profile, it just says "name" and so you're going to put your name again. But I highly recommend to choose the target search words that your follower might be typing into Instagram. So it could be your industry, your niche, the person that you help, like entrepreneurs or realtors. You really have to get creative. Don't get too too specific here. Choose words that are pretty broad, but most importantly they need to be what your target follower is searching for. So with Oriana's profile, we chose the keywords, Toronto design + space ideas. Those are four key words that she can now show up for when someone is searching for them. The next thing I look at with a profile makeover is the bio. Now I have done a full video on how to write an Instagram bio, which you can check out here, but let's quickly review Oriana's new bio.

The first line is all about who she helps and how. "I help clients, builders and realtors create modern spaces." Boom. The second line is what makes her unique or different. So in this line she's going for that authority builder. She says, "Oriana, a designer with 10+ years experience." This lets her followers know she's not new in the industry. She has been there, done that and you can trust her. The last line is a specific call to action so that she can generate leads. She wrote "DM me for a free design call". So because she doesn't have a website that she's leading people to yet what she's using is Instagram's DMs on generating leads, nurturing those leads, AKA getting to know people and talk to them like real people, and then booking them in for a call or a consultation. Depends on your business model. For her case, she needs to lead them to a call and then a paid consultation. I have done a whole video on how to get quality DMs and how to sell in the DMs. So check that out right over here. So after the username, the name, the profile picture, and the bio.

The next thing I look at is the actual feed. So for Oriana's feed in her "before" version, she was posting a lot of interior design images, some were client work and some were aspirational or inspirational. Those were doing relatively well in her feed. But what we looked at was what was missing, and what were missing were client testimonials and quote cards that really told her follower her design style and what she was all about.

So we built that in to her feed and now she's got a good mix of client images, inspirational images and quote cards that are either inspiring or client reviews. Since Oriana has given her profile a makeover, her followers have gone from 767 to over 1,400 and now she even has highlights built out on her profile as an added bonus. If you're interested in using highlights to grow your business like Oriana is, be sure to hit the subscribe button because I am coming out with a video all about highlights for business. Very soon, one month after Oriana gave her Instagram profile a makeover, guess what? She had a paid consult booked into her business directly from Instagram, so the proof is in the pudding. Now you're raring to give your profile a total makeover. Amazing. I have two bio templates that you can use to make the bio writing process a whole lot easier.

Here they are, bio template number one, the first line: "Helping [target market] turn [problem] into [core benefit]". Second line: "[X] clients served + [X] total results added up." Third line: "Free [high value resource for your target customer]. So try that one on for size if it doesn't quite fit your industry or your business model. Here's the second one. First line: "Coach for [target market] looking to [core benefit]". Second line: "Featured in X, Y, Z + [X] years of experience." Third line: "DM me "ABC" for a surprise".

If you liked this video and you want to learn more about using Instagram to actually grow your business, I have a free Instagram masterclass. The link is right below this video. How to BOOST INSTAGRAM ENGAGEMENT

Are you posting on Instagram lately? But everything's coming up crickets? I mean, you've got your posts, you've got your stories, but no one's really interacting. If you've been seeing your numbers on Instagram go down lately, first of all, I can relate, but in today's video I'm going to share tactics and strategies that are going to help you get more likes, more views, and more shares that are actually going to make a difference in your business. Just like my friend Lillian of Strategy gal, formerly big data gal who went from about 20,000 followers all the way to over 130,000 followers. But more than that, she's gotten brand deals. She's gotten clients. She got a feature in Glamour magazine, she got podcast interviews all from Instagram. Plus there's my friend and Instagrowth Boss student Monica, who's hitting between 15 and 20% in engagement per Instagram post. I'm Elise Darma and I've helped thousands of entrepreneurs like yourself grow your business on Instagram, and in today's video I'm covering how to boost your engagement on your Instagram account.

Now, word of warning, I'm going to go deep into engagement strategies, but there's so much more that goes into Instagram marketing and just growing your business in general. So make sure you hit that Subscribe button and the bell, like, right now, so that you don't miss any of my future trainings. The first tip to boosting your engagement on Instagram is to include call to actions everywhere. Believe me when I say that, people want to be told what to do, so the first place to include a CTA is your bio. Spell it out for your followers, what's in it for them when they click on the link in your bio, then you want to make sure that you're including a CTA at the bottom or the middle of all of your captions.

And then of course in your Instagram stories, make sure you're not just sharing things out of context, but that you're giving context and then you're wrapping up your story with a small CTA. It could be a request for people to reply, which will DM you. They could answer the poll sticker, they could answer the question sticker; doesn't really matter what you choose, just as long as you're not forgetting to get your followers to engage. Speaking of Instagram stories, they are literally my fave and probably the hottest feature of Instagram today. So if you're not using them, you are missing out on getting that high engagement. When it comes to Instagram Stories, you need to use all the features within Stories. So the poll feature, the question sticker, the slider, there are so many ways that Instagram has made it easy for us to get our followers to engage. So use all of these features to their fullest. I promise you the algorithm is actually going to bless you with more engagement because you're using those features. And one last note about Instagram Stories.

It really pays to be consistent. You can't just pop up in your Stories once a week and expect the sales and the leads to roll into your DMs. You really want to be consistent. So find a cadence that works for you. I recommend to my students to post three times a day, morning, afternoon, and night. That way you're staying at the top of your followers' feeds, no matter what time of the day they're checking into their Instagram to view people's Stories.

My next tip is to optimize your bio to be found in search. Did you know that Instagram doesn't have a lot of ways for you to be found in search except for your username and your name field, so your username is typically your brand name or your personal name. Cool, fine, but your name field is where you can get really creative with the target search terms that your target follower is looking for. So make sure you're really putting yourself in the shoes of your target follower and choosing the best keywords to be found for in your name field. My next tip to boost your engagement is to use hashtags, and I don't mean just plopping them in your caption and forgetting about them.

You're going to want to actually follow the key hashtags related to your niche or your industry. Then you're going to see posts in your feed that have used that hashtag. This is your time. This is when you need to like, comment, watch their stories, hit reply to their stories. That way you are, you know, really engaging with a targeted account and opening up that pathway to start a conversation in the direct messages. Speaking of direct messages or DMs, that is my next tip. You gotta be proactive here. You can't wait for people to blow up your DMs with questions about working with you or wanting to get on your email list. You need to go out there and find them. Now, I've done a whole video on how to get those DMs and then how to sell in them right over here. So go ahead and check that out. But my number one takeaway here when it comes to DMs is it's all fine and dandy when you boost your engagement on your posts or on your stories, but do something with that engagement.

You have more eyeballs interacting with your content than ever before. Don't just let it sit there. Make sure you send a message to everyone who liked your post and thank them for liking. Really start that conversation in the DMs because truthfully that's where the sales happen. My last tip for you for boosting your engagement is to use a relatively new feature which is posting a preview of your IGTV video in your feed. This new feature came out in early 2019 and since then my IGTV videos when they are previewed in my feed get like 10X the views that they were getting before.

Now I've covered this entire IGTV strategy in this video, so if you're interested in 10X-ing your video views, make sure you give it a watch. Question for you. Which of these tips that I've shared are you going to use today to boost your engagement? Let me know in a comment below this video. Is it your CTA, optimizing your bio, sharing in your stories, more following hashtags, using DM strategies or posting to IGTV? Let me know.

Here's the bottom line. If you've made it this far in the video, you're getting the real talk. And the bottom line is you need to reward people for interacting with you. Being conversational equals engagement. So with that, don't be boring. Don't share the same old, same old. Don't be afraid to show up and be vulnerable, be truthful, be honest, be raw. You will be surprised at how your audience will love and react and engage with that content because truthfully, we're all craving it.

You can show people the behind the scenes of your life. With Instagram, we kind of have this tendency to show the highlight reel, but as I said, people really want to engage with the real person. They want to know you, so don't be afraid to take them on random adventures of your day. Take them behind the scenes as you're cooking. Really have fun with this type of content. Experiment, and honestly, like, it's always the most random topics that my followers respond to the most.

Now, you can always check your analytics if you have a business account to see when your audience is most in the app and this would be the best time to post. And lastly, you could always schedule in 20 minutes into your calendar to make sure you're going into your Instagram account and just engaging with people that could be replying to comments, viewing stories and replying, DM-ing people, following up with people you chatted with a few weeks ago, whatever the case may be, taking those 20 minutes to really grow those relationships, you will see not just a boost in your engagement but a boost in your business too.

Ready to turn all this engagement into actual revenue in your business? Excellent. I have just the thing for you. Head to freeinstacourse.com the link is right below this video and get started with my free Instagram training. I'm going to show you what's working today to grow a profile and actually earn revenue from it too and just for fun, since you've made it to the very end of this video, why not send me a DM? Go ahead and find me on Instagram @elisedarma. Send me a message and let's start a little one on one conversation. To ease and revenue. I'll see you in the next video. But my number one takeaway here in boosting your engagement. What is it? Now you can always check your analytics if you're a business account to see when Instagram's showing new that me....

I felt something in my stomach the exact same time. It was weird though. It was like surround sound..

How To Get Swipe Up On Instagram Without 10k Followers

One question I get a lot from my fellow online business owners is, Elise, How do I share multiple links in my Instagram stories when I don't have 10,000 followers yet. Now, as you probably know, when you see people saying in their stories, swipe up, swipe up, swipe up, What they're doing is driving you to a link. Once you actually swipe up at the bottom of the screen, you're going to be taken to a new link. This sexy feature is only available to you if you have an Instagram business account, and if you have 10,000 followers. Now I know a lot of successful online business people who haven't really focused on Instagram, they might have 400 followers, they might have a thousand and yet they have a lot of content to share. If they have blog posts, they have videos, they have podcast episodes. So here is my trick for online business owners to be able to share multiple links in their Instagram stories, even without 10,000 followers. Ready? All right. The first step is you are going to utilize IGTV, okay? You're gonna pull up your phone and record a video.

You can just use the camera app on your phone, make sure it's at least 15 seconds. Okay. With IGTV videos, they need to be at least 15 seconds and they can be up to 10 minutes, which is pretty cool. So record a video and just make it a call to action or explain why they should care about what you're promoting, whether it's a new blog post, a podcast, a free masterclass, whatever. Just give it at least 15 seconds and then save that video on your camera roll. Then what you're going to do is open up your Instagram profile and then head on over to the IGTV area right under your bio. And where you see the plus symbol is where you're going to add a new video. So automatically all the videos that are on your camera roll that are at least 15 seconds, are going to pop up. You can see that I've already recorded one as an example.

So I'm going to click that video, make sure it's the correct one, hit next, and then give it a title. So whatever it is. Like for me it'd be like free masterclass. You want to make it interesting and pique their curiosity of course. And then in the description I would put the link right there at the very top. So for me it's InstaGrowthBoss Dot - oh auto correct. boss.com make sure that's very clickable. You can even add like an Emoji right at the beginning if you want to like really draw attention to it and then you can go ahead and add a full description, it's up to you.

You can literally just leave it as is and oh yeah. You can also edit the cover too. So you can choose something from your camera roll or you can create something custom and Canva. I'll just leave it as that pretty screenshot or screen. What is it - freeze? Screen freeze? I don't know - "thumbnail", that Instagram has chosen. All right, so once you have that information there you really need the title and then the description to have a link.

Then just hit post. You're going to see it updating. And right now I'm at 98% - exciting! And so now it's fully updated into my IGTV library. It's there. Where's the link you might ask? Well, just go to the top where it says "free master class" or whatever your title is and when they tap that there's your link. So let me just tap right now and it's going to open up to Instagrowthboss.com which is pretty cool. Okay, so that's how we have gotten that link into this description very easily. Now, how do we get this into your stories? Just because you've published it on IGTV doesn't mean that that people are going to see it in your stories. So now the creativity continues. You're going to go to your story and open it up and hello, we'll record something. Okay. Um, let's just record something really quick and I'll do an example. I like hands free - that's my trick.

Hey, I've just released a brand new masterclass. It's all about gaining your next 1000 Instagram followers in 30 days. Make sure you swipe up to get the details on it or watch it. That's probably better. Anyway, demonstration purposes only. Okay, so I've just recorded my Insta story right now. Let's say I don't have 10,000 followers and I don't actually have that link symbol to lead out to an external link. What you can do though is still hit that link symbol and you should see an option for IGTV video. Okay? So you hit IGTV video, and then low and behold, there's that IGTV video we just uploaded.

You can scroll through all of yours, but make sure you just select the most recent one and then hit done. So you can link to your, to your IGTV video in your Insta story, even without 10,000 followers. Pretty cool. Okay. So what I recommend is also adding some text. Um, you know, let's just do a little, little like example. You're not gonna make it so promotional, right? Right. Um, you can even use a GIF that says like 'swipe up' if you'd like.

Um, these are all pretty aggressive. Let's just use these. Okay? So once you've got your story ready to go, and once you've made sure that you've linked to your latest IGTV video, you're going to hit Share to story. Now I am going to actually go to another account of mine. I'm going to go to my agency account and I'm going to check it out from that one. And there I am right at the very top, Elise Darma has shared something to her story. Here's what it's going to look. So there's my new story, free masterclass, awesome CTA. But at the very bottom you're going to see watch video. So let's tap, watch video. And there we go. There's my latest IGTV video. And again, in the IGTV video, you can literally say to your followers 'Make sure you tap the title to get the direct link'. Okay? When we tap the title and your viewer taps the title, they're going to see the external link leading out to whatever you want to promote, whether it's a masterclass, a Webinar, a blog post, a podcast, all that great stuff.

So that is my tip on how to get around sharing multiple links in your Instagram stories before you have 10,000 followers. What did you think? Now I have a whole lot more Instagram strategies for you, especially if you're an online business owner like myself. I have a free Instagram masterclass that you can go ahead and check out at any time. Of course, my neighbor decides to sing Christmas carols. Take out your phone or take your phone out. Oh, we're already recording..

How To Make Money On TikTok

What did you say Tiktok is? Social commerce? Huh? Has Gary B ever influenced you? More and more he's talking about Tik Tok and it sure is perking up the ears of entrepreneurs and marketers like myself. Why is that? Well, Tik Tok has a lot of interest right now and not a lot of content. So those who are creating content are seeing crazy views and some people are going viral literally overnight. Here's the thing, the same thing happened to Instagram just a few years ago. People got interested in this app that was normally just for teenagers, but they thought that the way to make money through Instagram was to get a lot of followers. But now that we see Instagram as a full blown marketing tool for business where you don't actually need a lot of followers, I can see that more and more people are looking to Tik Tok. They don't want to wait years to figure out the platform and how to monetize it.

They want to jump on it early so that they can capitalize on all the interest today and start making money from Tik Tok. So if that's you, if you're interested in jumping on a platform early and looking at how to actually monetize your following, that's what I'm covering in today's videos: six ways that I'm seeing people actually make money today from Tik Tok. And stay tuned until the end. I'm going to share with you why Tik Tok might be more powerful than even Instagram. Yep. I said it. I am a full-time Instagram marketer, but I definitely have my eye on Tik Tok and I'll share with you all my thoughts at the end of this video.

My name is Elise Darma and when I'm not working from beautiful Costa Rica, I'm helping entrepreneurs like yourself turn Instagram into a new revenue stream in your business. And today I'm covering Tik Tok. Yes, another social media app that a lot of people have their eye on and a lot of people are making money from. So based on my research, here are six ways that I see people monetizing Tik Tok today. The first way people are making money from Tik Tok is growing accounts and then selling them. So this is becoming more and more popular in the eCommerce or product space. Similar to Instagram, you're going to choose a niche and then go ahead and create entertaining content, ideally content that goes viral to attract and draw that person who would be the ideal customer for your product.

So there are people in the space today who are growing Tik Tok profiles around a certain interest. Usually it's a niche topic and they might not have anything to sell, but they're going to reach out to brands in that industry and sell their Tik Tok profile to them and people are legit making money this way. The good news for product brands is once they have that account in their hands, it's actually fairly easy to sell products. One way that people are selling products is through Tik Tok live. They are launching products while livestreaming or they're actually holding kind of auctions while live streaming. And of course there is the link in the bio where you can always drive your followers to purchase your product. So if you're the type of person to love Tik Tok, and you just want to grow a following around a certain topic and really build that community around a certain topic, go for it and then reach out to those brands who would love to have access to those followers and sell them your account.

The second way people are making money from Tik Tok is going live and collecting donations from viewers. This feature of Tik Tok, I find fascinating. It's really a built in monetization platform, literally from day one. So from what I've seen, here's how it works. When you're a Tik Tok user, you can go into your profile and purchase something called coins. So for a hundred coins, I think it's like $1.39 from what I saw. I'm in the settings of my account right now and I'm just going to balance and it's showing me that I have a balance of zero. Haven't bought any coins, but I can recharge. And for a hundred coins it's going to cost $1.39.

Now what do I do with these coins? The way this is designed is that when one of my favorite creators is going live, I can actually send them coins as kind of a way to give thanks for all of their effort in creating the content they do. What does the creator do with this coin? The creator turns the coins into diamonds and those diamonds can be converted into cash via PayPal. Cool, right? So if you build up a profile yourself, you have a lot of followers, your followers have the ability to donate coins to you, which turn into diamonds in your account, which you can then convert into cash through PayPal. On the Chinese version of Tik Tok, that app's called Douyin, there is a next level feature similar to this. When creators are live, they can actually attach a shopping cart to a product that they sell. So it's kinda like QVC or the shopping channel. You can go live, hold an auction, from what I can see, and people can buy your product while you're live through the shopping cart feature.

So my guess is this feature is going to come to accounts worldwide sooner rather than later. The third way to make money from Tik Tok is to manage influencer campaigns. This isn't a new idea. There are straight up influencer agencies to serve Instagram influencers already. So the same concept applies to Tik Tok. You can be the middleman or the broker between a creator on Tik Tok and a brand who wants to work with that influencer. So from creating the agreement, um, managing both parties, making sure the deliverables are all met, just being that coordinator, you can charge a service fee to manage campaigns like that.

Tik Tok as a platform is smart. They actually have an internal influencer program already built in. So if I'm a big brand and I want to reach out to Tik Tok and say, Hey, this is the space I'm in, what influencers should I work with? I can do that. It's so smart. The only thing is I'm going to pay a percentage based on Tik Tok brokering that agreement. So that's why there is already a service where other parties or agencies can make that agreement outside of Tik Tok. It helps brands save a little bit of money. The fourth way you can make money from Tik Tok is by using their ads platform. So just like Facebook and Instagram ads, you can go Google right now, Tik Tok ads and sign up for access to their ads platform. So this is pretty self explanatory if you've ever run paid traffic before, but if your market's on Tik Tok it might be worth you creating a few ads, putting some budget towards experimenting there and seeing what happens.

Maybe you can sell more of your products through Tik Tok. The fifth way you can make money from Tik Tok is by offering management services for creators on the app. So you might've seen this, but some creators on Tik Tok have millions of followers and sometimes this happens really fast and overnight for that creator, it's like having a business land in their lap so you could step in and offer services to help them with their content strategy, their creative strategy, maybe managing offers and deals that come their way. But if you're, if you kind of have that background in production or storytelling, you could definitely apply that to offering management services to Tik Tok creators.

Last but not least, once you become a pro on Tik Tok, and maybe you really understand how someone could take a video that maybe gets a hundred views and help them get 100,000 views, well you can simply offer consulting services. So this is a really great way to leverage your expertise from the platform and help people who want to be Tik Tok famous or they want to be creators, actually boost their strategy so that their videos get seen by hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people. Of course, you need to have the background and the experience in this first to offer this as a service. But once you're there, I mean people will pay to have your experience and your brain on their account.

And if you help them get any deals or influencer agreements, you can even negotiate a percentage or a cut of that deal simply because you are their consultant and you have helped them go viral on Tik Tok. So there you have it. Six ways that I see people making money from Tik Tok today, even while it's still really, really early on. So let's go back to my first point at the beginning of this video. Why do I, an Instagram marketer, think that Tik Tok might be more powerful? The way I see it, Instagram stories are kind of similar to Tik Tok videos, but they expire after 24 hours.

This is where Tik Tok is powerful because it actually is more like YouTube, meaning you can publish a video today, but maybe the algorithm picks it up months later and starts pushing that video into the feed of people who would like that video? Well, that has a lot of power to it because again, something you make once doesn't disappear after 24 hours. It can drive a lot of traffic and eyeballs to you months after the fact. That reason alone is why people are getting sometimes millions of views to their Tik Tok videos with very few followers. It's because the algorithm is picking up your video, pushing it out. Again, there's a lot of interests and not a lot of content. So the algorithm is pushing it out to the people who it thinks is going to be receptive to that content.

And hello waking up to millions of views with very few followers. I mean in today's day and age, I don't think there's any other app or platform that can give you those kinds of results right now. So now we've reached the point in the video where I usually wrap things up with a succinct call to action, but I don't really have a call to action for this video.

I was just interested in this topic on myself, AKA how are people making money really early on with a platform that's getting so much traffic. So if anything, this is just inspiring me to spend more time experimenting with Tik Tok. So I am on Tik Tok, go ahead and find me. I'm over @EliseDarma and hopefully by the time we connect, I have played around with a few more videos and maybe even one of them has gone viral. That would be pretty awesome. If you liked this video. And if you're interested in using other social media apps to grow your business, AKA Instagram, go ahead and head to freeinstacourse.com. I have a free masterclass there. To ease and revenue. I'll see you in the next video. Hey, so we made it to the end of the video officially. If you liked this video and my style of teaching, go ahead and hit the subscribe button.
